Animals & Outback Scenery, South Australia

Kangaroos

The first photo is from The Dutchman’s Stern, a small mountain I hiked near Quorn in the Outback. Everything else is from Gorge Wildlife Park, Adelaide Hills.

Wallabies

The first two photos are a wallaby I met in the Pound Gap area of Wilpena Pound. The rest of the photos and the video are from Gorge Wildlife Park, Adelaide Hills.

Grey-headed flying foxes (also known as fruit bats)

From the wildlife park.

Other native mammals

I found the echidna on St Mary’s Peak, Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges of Outback South Australia. The koalas are from the wildlife park.

Kookaburras

Other native birds

See the below section, on scenery, for a video of Major Mitchell’s cockatoos flying in the Outback.

Non-native animals

Roadside scenery; sheep and Major Mitchell’s cockatoos.

North to south from Wilpena Pound to the Clare Valley, and one photo from further west in Port Augusta.
